Student will learn the basics from threading the machine to what needles go with what fabrics. They will choose what projects they want so they are comfortable reading and using patterns and learning how to use a sewing machine.
Costume Design for Film and Theater

Learn about costume design for film and theater and make one complete costume though this 7 week course. Some supplies included, with the choice to bring your own pattern for choice of construction.
Corset Making Class
7 week class - $350.00
Learn to make a corset from a variety of historically accurate, or modern patterns. We will learn about corset making throughout the centuries, adjust and fit a pattern, and construct a corset. Most supplies included, students may be responsible for any special closures or embellishments they wish to add. Must have comfortable level of sewing experience.
Gift Craft Class
4 week class - $195.00
Worth 4 weeks of craft classes. Choose from a collection of projects or drop in on a specific class. Bath and body care making, scented sachets, purses and bags, holiday crafts and more. Supplies included. Some knowledge of sewing suggested.
Open Studio Time
one hour - $10.00
At Maria Sews A Lot a new thing will be starting called open studio time. This means that if you are in the middle of your project at home and can't finish it because life gets in the way, just pack up all your tools and supplies and finish it here. You can rent the Quilting room or the Shiny princess room for $10.00 per hour when it is convenient to you. You can quietly finish your sewing, quilting, scrapbooking or any other project you want without interruption. $10 per person.
Alterations
one hour session - $30.00
In the Alterations class the student will learn how to alter his/her own clothes. Bring what ever clean garments you want to alter along with the proper undergarmets and shoes. Basic sewing skills are needed for this class, this is not for the beginner sewer.
Sewing 101
4 weeks - $175.00 for 2 hours class per week
In sewing 101, we will work on a variety of projects to get comfortable reading and using patterns and learning how to use a sewing machine. Each class will be small so each student can get individual attention while learning their new skills.

Sewing 201
4 weeks - $175.00 for 2 hours of class per week
This class is for the student that the already knows how to sew and is looking more of a challenge and gain confidence sewing. The student will work on his/her individual project of choice.

Beginner Hand Knitting Class for Adults or Teens
4 weeks - $175.00 for two hours per week
In beginner knitting class you will learn the basics, try different needles, explore different yarns. See what needles and yarns you are most comfortable with.Learn basic knitting stitches.

Introduction to Hand Applique
4 weeks - $175.00 for two hours per week
In Introduction to Applique you will make a 14" hand applique blocksuitable for a wall hanging or a pillow. Kit included.

Home Decor Sewing
4 weeks -$175.00 for two hours per week
In Home Decor sewing we will start with a simple monogrammed pillow and move on to a simple valance. You will learn about pattern repeats and what materials to use for whatever you want to decorate. Basic sewing skills needed but not required.

Know your Sewing Machine
1 hour-$40.00
Did you just get a sewing machine or do you have one in your closet? This class is for you. I will teach you how to thread your machine, how to use it and what all those little feet and stitches are for.

Sewing Time
1 hour-$20.00
You need to do some sewing, but don't have the proper equipment, come and use mine. Use the machines available during class time in the Sewing room. This is not a sewing lesson and you do need to preregister no walk-ins.
FaceTime Sewing Class
You have watched the You Tube videos, but you still have a question. Now you can FaceTime me with your sewing questions without having to come to the Studio. You can choose how long you want to Facetime for depending on how much help you need. You have a new sewing machine and need help or you are stuck on a project it very easy to just Facetime me from your Iphone or Ipad. Just go to my Buy section and pay for your desired time and let me know when you are available.

Registration Information
- Private classes are available. Call or email me for more information.
- Classes are limited to either 4 or 6 students, so that each student can get individual attention. Please try and arrive five minutes early for class so we can start as scheduled. Class start and end at scheduled time, so please try and arrive on time.
- Please give at least a 24 hour notice if you can not make your scheduled class time.
- A list of supplies will be provided at time of registration.
Here is a list of the basic sewing supplies you will need.
Thread, scissors, seam ripper, 6" measuring gauge. tape measure, marking pencils or marking chalk, tracing paper, tracing wheel, hand sewing needles,thimble, Thread Heaven (thread conditioner), pincushion or magnet, pins.
